Policy recommendations
This policy recommendations report (D5.2) from the XXI-EU-TEACH project sets out a framework for reforming teacher education around a co-education model — a horizontal partnership between pre-service and in-service teachers that replaces the traditional mentor-student hierarchy with collaborative, equal-footing practice.
Recommendations are organised around four emerging subject areas (technological empowerment, sustainable learning, entrepreneurship, and playful learning) and address policymakers at both the national and European levels. Key asks include formal recognition of co-education and teacher mobility as professional development, protected time for collaboration, and centralised management of mobility logistics to reduce the burden on individual schools.
