Manual
This blueprint presents 11 practical mobility models designed to support the professional development of both practising and trainee teachers across Europe.
Drawing on evidence from National Labs in Denmark, Finland, Italy, Romania, and Spain, the document maps the real barriers teachers face when engaging in mobility – from structural and financial constraints to personal challenges such as care responsibilities and linguistic confidence – and translates these insights into actionable programme designs.
Each blueprint addresses a specific mobility pathway (including micro-mobility, co-teaching visits, blended and virtual formats, practicum-aligned placements, and more) and is built around four shared principles: recognition and feasibility, equity, practice-orientation, and meaningful follow-up.
The overarching message is clear: when well-designed, teacher mobility is not an add-on, but a powerful driver of professional growth, cross-cultural learning, and pedagogical innovation.
