This report maps the regulatory frameworks, challenges, and priorities of teacher education & training across Europe.
It focuses on regulatory frameworks governing both initial teacher education (ITE) and continuing professional development (CPD) across nine European countries. For each country, it identifies current priorities – such as pedagogical innovation, digital competence, and sustainable learning – alongside key challenges, including the theory-practice gap, inconsistent training quality, and limited funding. The report also includes country cards summarising the situation in the five partner countries and concludes with recommendations to inform policy and institutional reform across the European Education Area.
