Handbook

Safe and Inclusive Online Learning: The Sophie Handbook for Schools aims to respond to two urgent needs in an intersected manner:

  • Promoting inclusive and safe access of students to online learning.
  • Actively involving teachers, school staff and families in ensuring students’ safe digital learning. The handbook is directly targeted to primary and secondary school teachers and staff, to provide them with the necessary tools to be able to work with students and their families.

Anyone can use this handbook, and get inspired by its content and activities, which can be adapted to different needs and contexts as well as serve as inspiration to create new ones. The objective of the SOPHIE handbook is also to guide teachers to assist students in the use of digital devices and the Internet in their leisure time so that they avoid engaging in dangerous behaviours such as gambling and cyberbullying, while building a closer collaboration with families.
