The 12 open educational resources were developed around six domains related to digital skills for people working in agribusiness and living in rural areas. Each OER is a set of digital resources developed as PowePoint presentations, documents, demonstration videos, interviews with experts, examples of best practices, links to resources, and assessment activities. Because the people who use these resources have different backgrounds, 2 OERs were developed for each skill area to cover basic and more advanced skills.
- Attitude and open-mindedness: developing an open mindset toward new technologies and preventing distrust of digital solutions could block their adoption
- Global management: the need to use digital technologies in farm management, ranging from small management activities to major changes in production organization
- Communication and collaboration: development of skills related to conversation, co-creation, collaboration, cooperation, and networking through the use of digital tools.
- Bridging: insight into the information, knowledge and technologies available in the market.
- Identification and evaluation of the most appropriate technologies for the needs of people living and working in rural areas.
- Digital Literacy: the need to build basic skills in handling digital devices (smartphones, computers), simple applications (e-mail, WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube, web search, simple agri-apps, etc.) and basic equipment interfaces
- Advanced digital skills: the skills and knowledge for using more specialized software, such as geographic information systems, databases, and spreadsheets. In this case, the term does not refer to “advanced skills” as per the Digital Europe Program, but to “advanced skills” in general.
