Methodological and pedagogical study

This country report aims to analyse the phenomenon of child prostitution in Italy. The analysis presented is based on both primary and secondary data collected through desktop research as well as semi-structured interviews with relevant experts of legal and social aspects of juvenile prostitution at the local and national level. As highlighted in this report, child prostitution is a complex and multifaceted phenomenon which variably intersects with social, economic and cultural issues. This complexity and the limited data available on the occurrence of the phenomenon at the national level make it hard to draw clear lines. This report attempts of offer an overview of the legal framework, some statistical and demographic data and information on the response implemented inItaly, finally providing some conclusions and recommendations for future actions.
