This report presents the key lessons emerging from the implementation of the GUIDE project and explores their relevance for future policy and practice. It focuses on what has been learned about supporting guardians and strengthening guardianship systems for unaccompanied children, particularly those with disabilities or developmental difficulties.
Rather than describing project activities, the report brings together evidence, experience and practical insights to identify challenges, highlight promising approaches and inform future developments at both national and European levels. The report is intended to support policymakers, guardianship authorities, child protection professionals and organisations working with unaccompanied children.
