The Roadmap is part of the Educator’s guide and can be used as a supplementary activity during an academic course or as an independent workshop. The process was designed to be highly flexible and adaptable to different goals, such as commercializing existing research or applications, developing innovative ideas, and building strong teams. This process can be adapted based on available timelines: from organizing a 48-hour hackathon to planning an entire semester. It is possible to select or integrate the proposed methods depending on the discipline or time availability. Most of the recommended methods are freely accessible online. Active support from teaching staff during the process is crucial. Furthermore, mentoring paths with experts can be activated if necessary. This guide has been developed and tested at Riga Technical University as part of the pre-incubation program IdeaLAB.
