Supporting new or aspiring entrepreneurs to develop their business by learning from more experienced entrepreneurs through transnational exchanges.

Context

Social entrepreneurs, with their innovative approaches to social issues, are key to driving systemic change in society. By creating enterprises that prioritise social impact and financial sustainability, they contribute to closing structural gaps and promoting social cohesion. Their efforts are often in line with the goals of the Triple Transition Agenda, as they work to solve problems at the intersection of social, environmental and technological domains.

Objectives

  • Helping emerging entrepreneurs, especially in the social sector, with a focus on sustainable, green and digital enterprises to gain experience, expand their network, improve their business model, internationalise and start-up their business by acquiring knowledge on financial management, risk management, investment, innovation, marketing.
  • Enable experienced host entrepreneurs to create links across Europe and exchange best practices with people offering new perspectives and different approaches to the market.

Activities

  • Offer 105 new enterprises the opportunity to receive on-the-job training to support the development of their business ideas and help them overcome typical start-up challenges related to business crisis management, financing, strategy, market access and business support.
  • Support the matching of entrepreneurs from underrepresented countries with Turkish and Norwegian partners. Also offering support to Ukrainian entrepreneurs during the ongoing war by facilitating their mobility.
  • Contributing to the EU’s triple transition strategy with the involvement of some 86 companies in the social, green and digital sectors.
  • Apply high quality standards to the recruitment and relationship building process to avoid misuse of the programme and funds.
  • Promote the sharing of experience and information among entrepreneurs on obstacles to starting and developing their businesses, seeking to support at least 215 entrepreneurs in total.

Impact

  • Acquisition by target groups of the necessary skills to evolve and struggle in an increasingly difficult European economic and social context, influenced by a mix of post-pandemic recovery efforts, geopolitical tensions and economic policy changes.
  • Supporting the achievement of gender balance and female entrepreneurship.
