To increase the employability and skills of young NEET from Madrid, through a work period in Palermo.

Context

European mobility encourages the meeting of new cultures and allows to develop of new skills. Having the opportunity to do a work period in another country allows young people to develop many skills, both technical and soft skills, which will go on to improve their employability once the internship period is over and they return to their city with a richer cultural background.

Objectives

The goal of the project is to promote the integration of disadvantaged young people between the ages of 16 and 29 who are not in education, employment or training (NEETs) by improving their skills, knowledge and experience and offering them the opportunity to make new contacts in Europe to help them integrate into the labor market and society.

  • Develop a pilot experience for improving the training of young NEETs aged 16-29, relying on the collaboration of key agents in the area.
  • Support 20 young people by providing them with counseling and designing with them training and employment itineraries that fit their profile.
  • Promote cultural exchange through a 4-month training and work period in Italy.
  • To ensure the continuity of this project through the establishment of a solid consortium and the identification of actions to meet the real and current needs of the target group in relation to the labor market.

Activities

  • Training in Madrid for 20 young NEETs
  • 4-month mobility in Palermo for 16 NEET youth, including work, training and cultural activities.

 Resources

  • Final report “Lessons Learned and Future Plans,” including analysis of project results and impact and recommendations regarding lessons learned and future plans.

Impact

  • Improving skills, competencies and employability for 20 NEET youth.
  • Enable 16 NEET youth to have a 4-month training experience Italy, in Palermo, working at companies and organizations in the area.
