How to foster the adoption of Agriculture 4.0 technologies by farmers and farms, with the aim of increasing productivity and reducing environmental impact? This question has been tried to be answered by ITFARM in its two years of operation, which has helped promote digital agriculture throughout Europe.
The partnership was thrilled to see the results developed during the project lifetime (namely the Development of Study Materials and Open Platform for Sharing Knowledge) and in the spring and summer of 2024, each partner had the opportunity to promote the project results within very successful final events in Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Ireland, Italy, Belgium and Hungary.
The events involved local participants, coming from agriculture machine suppliers, consulting companies, VET teachers and students, farmers and administrative staff. The participation of more than 200 people enhanced the goal of the events, which were to promote the Open Platform for Sharing Knowledge, ring to the forefront important issues concerning the digitial transformation of agriculture across Europe and foster local networking between organizations, educators, academics and farmers working within the field of digital agricolture and those seeking to increase their knowledge.
CESIE’s final event took place in Santa Venerina (CT), in the beautiful location of “Giardini di Villa Fago”, in collaboration with ARIA Living Lab, who proposed a practical demonstration of advanced technologies in support of agriculture. The last part of the event was dedicated to the “World café methodology”, which consisted of roundtables with the objective of discussing together with other event participants and guest speakers, topics that arose during the event presentations.
Having developed a comprehensive open online platform containing a wide range of educational materials, best practices and networking space for those working in digital agriculture and those wanted to know more and train in the digital agricultural field, ITFARM has successfully launched products that strive for sustainability of the agricultural sector and the objective of supporting the transformation and insertion of digital agricultural resources, methods and management within Italian communities particularly in the Southern regions.
Networking and promoting good practices has always represented a main goal for the ITFARM partnership; if you want to contribute to the strive for sustainability, visit our site https://itfarm.trebag.hu/network/ and join our network!
