On May 4th and 5th, the 4th transnational meeting of the MOBILE – MOBility In Learning in Europe project (Grundtvig Multilateral under the Lifelong Learning Programme) took place at CESIE’s office in Palermo. 8 partners from different European countries were actively involved in the meeting: Italy, Germany, Spain, Poland, Sweden, United Kingdom, Belgium, Netherlands.

The project aims at improving the quality and promoting the access to international internship opportunities for young people and disadvantaged people using learning tools addressed to different actors involved in international mobility projects (teachers, tutors, host companies).

The project has already developed useful tools to improve the preparation, implementation and final phases of work experiences in Europe and abroad.

In addition to European partners, also a group of 8 students coming from different schools involved in the project (Spain, Sweden, Poland and Germany) attended the meeting. The students, during the international exchange experience, had the possibility to participate in a short training focused on some critical issues to be addressed during international internships experiences (expectations, doubts and fears, conflict resolution) with the aim of promoting debate and mutual exchange.

The young people who participated in this training experience, did a short international internship experience hosted by some third sector associations in Palermo, offering their availability and showing them their daily work.

While the young people were involved in this short experience, the partners of the project discussed about the results achieved from the project so far. During the meeting, the results of a needs analysis carried out in every country involved were presented to mentors and trainers, and all products created by the project so far were analyzed. For further information about them you can visit the project website: www.mobilityinlearning.eu.

The partnership is also developing a handbook that will be used for the arrangement of international internship experiences, addressed to trainers involved in mobility projects. Gadgets and useful tools for students will be delivered to promote the project.
