The transnational partner meeting of From Expats to Experts: United Civil Society through Inclusion and Empowerment of Young Immigrants (FETE) took place in Copenhagen on the 2nd of June 2016. FETE is a two year project co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme, Key Action 2 – Strategic Partnerships in the field of Youth. The project involves 4 partners: Crossing Borders (Denmark – Coordinator), CESIE (Italy), People for Change Foundation (Malta) and CNAM Conservatoire national des arts et métiers – Pays de la Loire (France).
The project will end in August 2016 and the partners had the opportunity to discuss about the last phases of the project and the results in each partner country. The project involved 60 young migrants from 18 and 30 years that did a working experience improving their sof and professional skills. Moreover, some of this young people that live in reception structures and SPRAR (Protection System for Refugees and Asylum Seekers) had the chance to discuss and share their experience with other young people from partner countries to become youth ambassadors of diversity. They developed some competences to help local community in facing some problems related to immigration.
The meeting in June allowed partners to reflect and finalise the 2 main products of the FETE project:
- A research conducted in every partner country on legal framework of immigration in the EU, inclusion strategies for the inclusion of young immigrants in labor markets;
- A guide with tools for mentors that work with immigrant youth.
