What are the top eight soft skills that employers want you to have? Are you aware of your own skills? What can you do to increase your employability chances?

Based on the EAGLES needs analysis we have identified that Positivity, Self-awareness, Resilience, Communication, Team work, Critical thinking, Creativity, Motivation are eight crucial skills that employers expect young people to possess. In other words, if you are positive, confident about yourself, able to receive feedback and analyse it in a constructive manner, if you can think out of the box and develop innovative proposals you definitely have higher chances of getting a job.

In reference to top eight employability skills the consortium has developed the EAGLES Training Package.

Trainers from CESIE (Italy), GrantXpert (Cyprus) and Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences (Greece) met in Cyprus and explored the methodologies and activities during Train the Trainers workshop that was hosted by Ch. Charalambous Institute of Development from 28th November to 2nd December 2016.

The EAGLES Training Package is composed of ‘Trainer’s Manual and Presentations’, including detailed content and practical activities for a total duration of 50 training hours.

Each module of the EAGLES Training Package is dedicated to one of the above fundamental skills. For example, resilience module explores the concept and how it manifests in everyday life and its relevance and implications for young jobseekers in particular. This module presents a number of activities to help young people become aware of, and cultivate resilience.

During 5 days of the Train the Trainer workshop the partners have provided feedback to each other regarding the activities and presentations at the same time they have boosted their positivity to be better prepared for the activities at the local level!

What is next?

Each EAGLES partner is going to organise Training for 10 youth workers at the local level. The training will provide a solid ground to improve and finalise the EAGLES Training Package.

My Elections My EU: migration and climate change in the european Parliament

My Elections – My EU! involved about 25 young people in international workshops on migration and climate change, culminating in an artistic-political performance at the European Parliament. The journey enabled them to gain knowledge and develop expressive skills, with the aim of promoting civic engagement and dialogue with members of the European Parliament, and will be documented in a digital toolkit to replicate the experience.
