Objectives
- Attracting adult learners, especially older people, to carry out practical work with children, using gardening as an educational activity
- Promoting intergenerational learning and contact
- Creating new pan-European links, being developed by both staff and learners exchanging knowledge and ideas with the counterparts
- Sharing a common language –the theme of gardening- to overcome linguistic and cultural barriers
Activities
- Setting up ‘Green Fingers groups’, bringing together trainers, learners, gardening experts and those working with children
- Creation of a new gardening space, accessible to children and the group (in a school, in a public park, in the countryside)
- Run regular practical sessions, including share meals for all, to publicise the learning opportunities
- Design of the project portfolio
- Exchange of information on Best Practice, presentation materials, dissemination of ideas
- Submission of material for the project website
