How to promote the integration of low-skilled adults into the labour market?
Do guidance professionals have the necessary tools to support them?
How to broaden the range of empathic and user-friendly methods available to evaluate adult skills and competences?
Today the requirements of the European labour market are changing, requiring new skills and abilities. As a result, if the unemployment rate has fallen in many European countries, the level of unemployment of low-skilled adults remains very high. Their work integration is in danger if they cannot benefit from support services adapted to their specific needs.
The Inclusive + – Inclusive & Practical Assessment Tools for Guidance Practitioners project aims to support low-skilled adults by creating open, flexible and adaptable tools to help guidance practitioners discover, document and develop the skills of their clients.
On 22nd and 23rd November 2018, the project partners met for the first time at the kick-off meeting in Malaga. On this occasion, they planned the first activities of the project, went further in the details of the tools to be developed and discussed the actors to be involved in the different stages of the project.
In the coming months, the project partners will conduct a research on the basic skills needed to increase the employability of low-skilled adults. For this purpose, they will interview professionals working with low-skilled adults in several European countries.
The information collected will allow the development of tools to assess the skills and competences of low-skilled adults. These tools will include user-friendly cards for both the professionals and the low-skilled adults to understand which skills they have already acquired and their hidden talents, to suggest areas for improvement and propose efficient interview techniques with this audience. CESIE will lead the research and conception of these cards.
