IntegratEd Info Day: Promoting the school success of newly arrived migrant students
How to better manage cultural diversity in the classroom? How to support teachers working with minors newly arrived in Italy?
On September 12, 2019, at 16.00, at the Moltivolti (Via Giuseppe Mario Puglia, 21) we will organise the Info Day of the IntegratEd project, co-financed by the European Union through the AMIF. The main objective of the project is to promote the school success of foreign students who have just arrived in secondary schools.
For this reason, we have developed an educational support model to support schools and teachers in managing diversity in the classroom and in fostering the socialization of newly arrived students within the school and in the community.
The Info Day will be the occasion to present the educational support model and the opportunities for schools to participate to the project activities. The model developed, indeed, includes several activities to involve the entire educating community in supporting the personal and professional growth of the children:
- A mentoring program for newly arrived migrant students and refugees from other migrant students or recent graduates that can support them in their schooling and the school in managing cultural diversity
- Training for teachers and school staff on intercultural competences and management of intercultural environments
- Parents’ involvement, in particular those of third country students, in school activities and meetings between parents themselves and with school staff
- An educational support platform that will allow students, especially those from third countries, to be supported even outside the school context
If you are a teacher and you want to learn more about the event, the project and its activities, please write to Giulia Tarantino: email@example.com.
