MOBVET: Increasing motivation and impact of mobility for VET students and teachers

In November, the MOBVET - Mobility for vocational education and training partnership met in England for the third transnational meeting to analyse the work done during the first year of the project and, at the same time, to establish the next steps to be undertaken.
It was a very interesting meeting, during which the host partner allowed us to visit the immense Vision West Nottinghamshire College, a VET institute, composed by several locations, which offers a lot of education and training opportunities in all main industrial sectors, from basic to university level, for more than 26,000 young people, including students and apprentices / trainees.
The visit allowed a further comparison between the various national realities related to VET institutions, while facilitating the development of training modules within the online learning platform, which will contain experiences, tips, guidelines and useful materials, both for teachers and students, to facilitate and address an international mobility experience in the context of VET institutions.
The training modules will be completed at the beginning of 2020 and then the online platform will be activated; once the materials are finalised, the project partners will test all the modules with the two groups of interested users, i.e. teachers and students who have already faced a mobility experience, in order to add and/or modify the materials and adapt them as best as possible according to the feedback of the direct users.
Mobility experiences abroad offer different advantages, both at a professional and at a personal level; from the widening of one's way of seeing the world, to the knowledge of new cultures, lifestyles and realities; from the possibility for anyone facing such an experience, to enrich their professional curriculum and their working network, testing themselves in work and study contexts different from those of their country of origin and thus developing professional, social and transversal skills that can be spent both at a national, transnational and European level.
