“Resources for Inclusion, Diversity and Equality” for youth workers and training providers will be collected and developed in the recently started RIDE project. In fact, the five European partners will develop a comprehensive Toolbox with a set of fresh, innovative resources and practical tools for youth work practitioners, universities and training providers.

The two-year project, which is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission, was launched on 2nd and 3rd December 2015 with the Kick-off meeting at the University of Gloucestershire in Cheltenham, United Kingdom. The five partners from United Kingdom, Slovakia, Turkey, Croatia and Italy, initiate their project activities with a research on the existing practice, needs and gaps of inclusive youth work in their countries. The results of the research will be collated and published in a “Needs Analysis Report” and guide the focus of the RIDE Toolbox. To answer the question: “Why be involved with equality, inclusion and diversity in youth practice?” the RIDE partners will gather information on the principles and approaches that guide youth work practice in the EU and in their respective countries. During their research, partners will both analyse existing documents and studies and interview experts and young people to get an up-to-date and comprehensive picture of youth practice and principles.

In the following phases partners will then develop the other three elements of the RIDE Toolbox:

  • The Good Practice Directory, containing a collection of case studies of good practice in inclusion, diversity and equality;
  • The Practice Resource, which will include exercises and practical activities for youth practitioners, session plans and useful websites;
  • The Education and Training Resource, consisting of two elements: a module content for higher education institutes and a training course for youth practitioners.

CESIE will be responsible for the project’s implementation in Italy and will lead the development of the Practice Resource. CESIE will also guide and coordinate all dissemination activities of the project.

Project partners are:

  • University of Gloucestershire (United Kingdom) – Project Coordinator
  • CESIE (Italy)
  • Trnava University (Slovakia)
  • Akdeniz University (Turkey)
  • Croatian Youth Network (Croatia)
