Which tools shall be used so as to promote active citizenship and foster intercultural dialogue? Organised by Cooperazione senza frontiere in the framework of I giovani parlano con l’Europa, DemoCrazy is a free film festival featuring movies and documentaries on the role of citizens in modern society. The festival is targeted at young people who are eager to participate and animate a constructive and vibrant debate on these issues.
The film festival features four different outodoor screenings: the first three films will be shown at 20:00 in a lovely hidden park in the heart of Palermo: Villa Trabia, at Palermo Youth Center, in via Marchese Ugo 4.
Below, you will find more information about the programme:
- April 19th Citizenfour directed by Laura Poitras (2014);
- May 3rd Before the Flood directed by Fisher Stevens (2016);
- May 17th Where To Invade Next directed by Michael Moore (2016).
The last film will be screened on May 27th in one of the squares which were part of the urban renewal activities implemented in the framework of the project. This time the documentary will be selected by young people who will submit their proposals through an online survey which will soon be launched.

I giovani parlano con l’Europa aims to promote intercultural dialogue and foster the social inclusion as a means to enhance European citizenship and raise young people’s awareness of the opportunities the European Commission offers.
