Printed Material – Guidance document

The aim of this document is to offer guidance for the estimation of the economic benefits of walking and cycling using the World Health Organization’s Heath Economic Assessment Tool (HEAT). The document aims to complement existing HEAT materials which includes a comprehensive user guide, free online training and the tool itself, which can be accessed at heatwalkingcycling.org.

This document presents five case studies from the project SPAcE (Supporting Policy and Action for Active Environments) which demonstrate how HEAT can be used by organisations who want to assess the impact of potential increases in walking and cycling in their communities.
