The project Forum for Innovation of Town Twinning – NewTwin is starting on Friday 1st July 2011. It will last seven days during which 24 volunteers/youngsters from 7 European countries (Denmark, Latvia, Romania, France, Bulgaria, Cyprus and Italy) will participate in different activities giving their voice for innovation of town twinning projects.
The project has been funded by Europe for Citizens Programme, Action 1. 2.2 Active Citizens for Europe – support measures, and it will firstly involve young volunteers (18-30 years old) from different European civil society organizations in a Youth Forum on innovation and revitalization of Town Twinning in Europe. Participants will prepare a presentation on the history of town twinning in their cities. During the Forum NewTwin the coordinating organisation, CESIE, will collect innovative and creative ideas that responds to the needs of youth for innovation of town twinning relations. After the Forum the NewTwin Handbook will be created and presented to the municipality representatives coming from all around the Europe.
