Restarting life outside prison is a leap that many times is scary. Through Road To Freedom we try to support people in residential facilities close to release, fostering their autonomy and rehabilitation.

In the coming months we will implement the training course based on the F.R.O.G. Method with the Juvenile Penitentiary Institute “Malaspina” and the Ufficio di Servizio Sociale per i Minorenni. We will involve two groups of young adults in an intensive course that will lead them to greater self-awareness and confidence in their own potential.

In the meantime, the first phase of Road To Freedom’s bibliographic and sitographic research has been completed, during which we investigated the functioning of prison systems by critically reading data and reports.

In this second phase of research, however, we are focusing on field study. We are dialoguing with those involved in the project: educators, educators and social workers in the facilities. The goal is to enrich the research with their points of view, directly addressing the issue of education in prison settings, recounting the strengths and weaknesses of the system, the real educational needs, the gaps to be filled, and the good practices to be enhanced and disseminated. The results of the research will be available in the project sheet.
