Open call for REC Lab #3 creative workshops: violence prevention & experimental filmmaking
Do you think cyberbullying is an evergoing problem among young people? Would you like to help preventing it in a creative way using videomaking techniques?
If your answer is yes, then this is the chance for you!
We are looking for motivated young people for the REC – Reflect Experiment Capture project to participate in the workshops in Palermo regarding experimental videomaking and cyberbullying prevention.
The REC project aims at providing equal opportunities in education for young people by peer learning and non-formal methodologies, promoting innovative schemes to build a non-violence culture.
We have already successfully conducted two workshops. Have a look at our videos here.
During this new cycle, participants will have the chance to be creative and prevent cyberbullying thought landart artistic techniques and videomaking.
Next year, 4 of the participants will have the opportunity to travel to the REC International Experimental Video Festival in Indonesia where they will introduce their films and defend their ideas in front of an international public. This mobility is one of the international activities foreseen by the project, with the participation of other 16 youth filmmakers from the 5 partner countries: Italy, Spain, Germany, Kenya and Indonesia.
Are you right to enroll? Of course you are! You don’t need to be a film director to participate.
Participants profile:
- Young people 17-30 years old
- Basic level of English
- Strong motivation and interest to face issue on violence prevention
- High creativity
- Enjoy teamwork
- Interest in filmmaking (video-making, script, photography, editing, staging and soundtrack)
When?
- The 5 workshops will take place from February to June 2020 and will ideally take place once a week in Palermo.
- The REC International Experimental Video Festival will last one week and will take place in Semarang, Indonesia in October 2020.
