Renewable Energies is a growing and profitable industrial sector in Europe.

Despite its importance and great expectations of continuing growth, there is a lack of skilled personnel: very often installation and maintenance services are in the hands of young people who do not have follow a specific training.

NE(W)AVE – reNEWAble e_VEt learning aims to create, test and implement a comprehensive learning model for the future professionals in the renewable energies.

On the 7th and 8th November 2017 the kick-off meeting of the project took place in Palermo (Italy).

in its 36 months implementation phase, the NE(W)AVE project foresees the following activities:

  • initially carry out a gap analysis in all the partner countries to find out more on existing training opportunities. Trainers and companies working in the renewable energies sector will be interviewed in order to learn more about their needs and preferences regarding content of training.
  • Based on the results of the analysis, we will build on a proven learning model for training of vocational instructors develop a new online training course. The course will then be tested in pilot trainings in the four partner countries. The final version will be provided on a learning portal, so that vocational educators across Europe and elsewhere can make a free use of it.
  • We will offer a period of mobility hosted by two partner’ companies in Italy and Spain to promote close cooperation between stakeholders from the education and business field.

As coordinator of the project and responsible for the vocational education state of art’s research, we will also lead all the dissemination activities.

NE(W)AVE is funded by the Erasmus+ Programme, Key Action 2 – Strategic Partnership in the field of VET.

The project partnership holds together 6 organisations:

Becoming eco-conscious adults: the GEA pathway

GEA, now in its fourth transnational meeting in Athens, has nearly completed the e-learning course for 15 educators per country, formatɜ on nonformal education and citizen science. In the coming months, educators will lead traveling classes to promote participatory environmental actions and provide practical tools, such as the Sustainable Kit and a printable Guide, to adopt a more eco-conscious lifestyle.
