How can the Inclusive+ project help career guidance and recruitment professionals discover and enhance the competences of the low-skilled adults with whom they work?
In the context of a fastly changing labour market, fostering the labour integration of people with low skills becomes a big challenge. It is the objective that the Inclusive + project aims to reach by improving the tools used by guidance counsellors and recruitment professionals.
Grazie a questa attività di ricerca i partner hanno potuto stilare un elenco delle competenze di base per l’occupabilità necessarie al gruppo target del progetto
As part of the initial project activities, partners have conducted a research in their 5 countries (Italy, UK, Romania, Slovakia and Spain), based on interviews with guidance counsellors, human resources managers, employers and other professionals who work with low-skilled adults. This research has allowed the partners to identify the basic employability skills of this audience. From these 5 local researches, a transnational research report has been elaborated which was used as a starting point for the development of the first instrument conceived within the project: the competence assessment cards for low-skilled adults.
These cards are a flexible and adaptable tool for efficiently assessing the skills of low-skilled adults. Two sets of cards make up this tool, one dedicated to adult learners and one to professionals. Each of them includes 53 competences selected and based on the transnational research and divided between four categories of competences: personal, social, digital and professional skills. In addition to these skills, 12 cards dedicated to hobbies have also been created to go even further in the discovery of hidden skills. Additional tools enrich the two sets of cards.
On 27th and 28th June 2019, the project partners met for the second partner meeting in Bucharest to discuss the cards developed by CESIE. CESIE presented the tools created and implemented a workshop with the other partners in order to show them how to make the most of the tool’s potential. This workshop was also the occasion to co-elaborate the instructions for the use of the cards, which shall allow each professional who will download them online to understand easily how to integrate them into his/her daily practice and use them with his/her clients.
In the coming months, the partners will train guidance counsellors and recruitment professionals at local level on how to use the cards. Later, they will also collect feedback from trained professionals when they test the cards with their customers in order to improve the tools developed and adjust them more and more to the real needs of the target audience.
