IDEA: New entrepreneurial skills and methodologies for educators of NEETs!
In the EU-28 the percentage of young people neither in employment nor in education or training (NEET) is, on average, 16,5% (Eurostat, 2019). This data is even more alarming if we consider only few of the worst country in this regard: Italy for example as an astonishing 28,9% of NEETs in the age range from 20 to 34 years old, Greece 26,8%, Spain 19,6%. It is important to reconnect the young people to the labour market and to the training programs which will help them find a proper employment.
The IDEA project (which is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme, Key Action 2 – Strategic Partnerships for adult education) aims at extending and developing competencies of adults educators in the area of entrepreneurial skills as well as providing adult educators with guidance and motivation strategies and equipping them with innovative solutions. The ultimate goal of the project is to increase the skills and competencies of young adults, especially NEETs and introduce them into the labour market with better possibilities thanks to the help of entrepreneurs involved during the project and new methodologies.
The first meeting of the project IDEA – Interactive toolset supporting Development of Educators of Adults’ skills in Boosting Entrepreneurship among NEETs, took place in Larissa, Greece on 8th November 2019. 8 partner organizations participated in the event from four different countries: Greece ( KAINOTOMIA, KEA IM Syrou), Poland (CWEP, CKE), Spain (C4E, MEUS) and Italy (Diciannove Soc. Coop, CESIE).
During the two-year project, the consortium will conduct research about entrepreneurship teaching and the demand for entrepreneurial skills according to businesses as well as develop an interactive toolset supporting the development of “Educators of Adults’ skills in Boosting Entrepreneurship among NEETs” which will include an assessment tool and training materials. In the end, all partners will test the materials and products during two separate phases and with two different target groups: first of all with adult educators and secondly with NEETs and young adults.
During the meeting, partners laid the basis for cooperation in the project as well as management arrangements. CESIE will lead and conduct the Quality Control of the project as well as participating in the development of the content of the main intellectual outputs.
Stay tuned for future updates on IDEA!
