At a time of profound changes driven by new technologies and other major trends disrupting our everyday lives, professionals from different sectors have realised the importance to get the necessary skills and mindset not to be left behind. Considering the strong impact that tourism plays on the economic, social, cultural, environmental spheres, smart and effective approaches are needed for development projects and sustainability initiatives, ensuring that funding and resources lead to achieving substantial results for destinations and communities.

Departing from these premises, HyPro4ST partners are working together on the development of a tailored Training Course for those who aspire to become Sustainable and Hybrid Project Managers for the Sustainable Tourism Sector. The Training Course consists of 6 modules covering topics such as project management methodologies, sustainability, digital and soft skills, entrepreneurship. The course contents were identified in line with the key findings emerged from the initial research and the agreed training framework. The course builds on such key documents, frameworks and initiatives, as: The BluePrint Strategy and Action Plan of the tourism sector; the Design Thinking Process, The Doughnut Economics, PMI’s PMBOK Guide and Standards, concept of agile project management practices, PM² Project Management Methodology developed by European Commission, and Green Project Management framework accompanied by P5 Standard for Sustainability in Project Management. The consortium is also designing a tailored certification scheme for those professionals and students of the tourism sector attending the online course. Upon successful completion of the relevant exams, learners will receive the Skills certificate recognised by the certification body of the project, TUVA.
