How to reduce the gap that exists between adults and younger people related to the use of ICT?

The digital curriculum currently in development by partners of the DSC – Digital Senior Citizen project aims at being an effective  tool for trainers and coaches who work with elderly people and will help them to reduce the generational gap between them and young people already used to using different social media and digital tools.

During the second meeting of the DSC  project, held in Rzeszów  on 21st and  22nd February, the consortium discussed and presented modules and methodologies which will compose the project curriculum. All partners involved in the project, presented their idea of how each module should be, resulting in the following 5 modules to be designed for the upcoming curriculum:

  • “Internet basics – what actually is the Internet?”.
  • “How to stay on-line and be safe – paying, shopping, banking without fear”.
  • “How to responsibly share information and still keep it private – maybe I can reach old friends”.
  • “Assessing learners’ skills and competences”.
  • “Creating awareness on validation of the acquired competences”.

In September, the consortium will meet again and will participate in a training event with experts to better comprehend the content of the modules in order to be ready for the future implementation with people aged 65+. This event will formally launch the beginning of the implementation of the curriculum to be tested with senior citizens across all partner countries – France, Poland, Italy, Estonia, Spain and Greece.
