Language literacy is an essential life skill in the 21st century. It is a fact that learning a foreign language is a good way to improve brain function and acquire social skills. Moreover, it is an effective way to explore other languages and cultures and to enhance professional skills needed to enter the labour market. These are some of the reasons why multilingualism was and continues to be one of the cornerstones of EU projects. The aim of the LangMOOCs – Language Massive Open Online Courses project is to research the potential of MOOCs in Language Learning, to explore the pedagogical framework of Language MOOCs. The project focus is to step up support for language learning and promote multilingualism via the implementation of Massive Open Online
Courses for Language Learning. The Research report on MOOCs Pedagogical framework is the first intellectual output envisaged by the project. The research aims to analyse MOOCs experiences, including benchmarking of pedagogical models & instructional technologies.
Target: Language teachers and learners, system administrators, service providers language schools and training centres, educators and educational policy-makers.
