The efforts to connect language course providers and potential learners are stronger and stronger as the project “ProLang – Promotion of less used European Languages to youth on the move” approaches its end. ProLang, a two-year multilateral project financed by the European Commission under the Lifelong Learning Programme – Key Activity 2, offers a web-portal as its main product.
What can you find on the ProLang Portal?
Short and interesting descriptions of 14 languages are available on the website: Bulgarian, Croatian, Greek, Icelandic, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak, Slovene, Swedish and Ukrainian languages are the object of articles written by mother tongues about their languages and their countries.
And if these tickle your interest and you want to learn the language, schools offering courses to learn each one of the languages will be listed on the web-portal too. For course providers that have joined the ProLang web-portal, you can also book your course online.
What can you do on the Portal?
ProLang project partners spent quite some energy and creativity to develop language tests, that give you “a taste” of the languages you are interested in, and help you grasp the first words and expressions. By the end of December 2014, the ProLang Portal will offer tests for at least 6 languages, as well of a certificate of completion of the test issued by the ProLang partners. At the moment, you can already start taking the test of Lithuanian, Slovak and Slovene languages.
Language course providers are welcome to join the web-portal to make their own courses available for the thousands of Europeans travelling throughout Europe to learn part of its linguistic and cultural heritage and diversity.
