Get to the hearth of the project “Inventing the future” funded by APQ “Giovani protagonisti di sé e del territorio” that through various actions and activities, will develop the issues of active citizenship, legality and interculture.
Indeed it was held Wednesday, January 19th from 16:00 in Piazza Tavola Tonda the event “Porte Aperte” that marked the passage from the promotion and advertising of the project to the beginning of workshops and to the opening of the multipurpose center O.P.E.N. (People Empowerment Opportunities News). During the event organized by the guys contacted throughout the itinerant journey of the Infobus around the city, there were performances and concerts arranged by the young people living in Palermo and extemporaneous workshops.
The Multipurpose Centre O.P.E.N. put itself up for an alternative place of spontaneous aggregation of young people and experimental space of youth cultural self-production that it’s at the same time a meeting place, non-formal education opportunity, expressivity and creativity workshops and a space in which you can spend your free time with the others making life worth being and doing together.
The reason is that groups of young people, with their attitudes and their places are an element of primary importance in order to realize policies focused on the valorization of young people and their capability especially for the new generations that are more and more isolated and with a relational experience more and more frail.
The project “Inventing the future” for the duration of three years, in general, wants to promote the primary role of young people (14-18 and 19-25 years old) employing them in several workshop activities, indeed maieutic, youth projects, digital photography workshops, guide –book creation, library, youth information office, an active counseling centre and self-management spaces are expected to develop.
The project APQ “Inventing the future” involving all over Palermo, is funded by Sicilian Region, and it’s realized by a group made up of 6 associations that have worked in the context of Palermo old town for years (CESIE – Centro Studi ed Iniziative Europeo, “Centro per lo Sviluppo Creativo Danilo Dolci”, Centro Internazionale delle Culture Ubuntu, Centro Astalli Palermo, Associazione Immagininaria, Associazione Bayty Baytik) and by two secondary high school (Istituto Nautico Statale “G.
