Women represent 51,4% of the migrant population in Europe in 2019 (UNDESA 2019). They continue to face double discrimination, one first consequent to origin, the other with respect to gender. This leads to greater obstacles than their male counterparts, in accessing the labor market and integration programs.
The official launch of the PITCH project took place on March 28-29, 2022, in Palermo, Italy. There we had the opportunity to meet our partners from all over Europe: Spain, Greece, Italy, Cyprus, Sweden, Slovenia, Lithuania and Poland. We will work together for the next three years with the goal of developing an effective model that facilitates the integration and inclusion of migrant women in Europe.

PITCH was born, as aimed at establishing a European common ground to support the design and implementation of local integration strategies targeting migrant women, based on a personalized, participatory and multi-stakeholder approach resulting from an EU-wide exchange of successful practices.
The expected impact of the project is to:
- Engage 210 migrant women.
- Improve institutional dialogue on integration strategies at the European level.
- Increase migrant women’s sense of belonging to European societies by strengthening their skills and making them more aware of their rights, duties and opportunities.
- Crate a new channel for multi-stakeholder cooperation at the transnational and local level.
