The new pedestrian area of the Istituto Finocchiaro Aprile, co-designed and co-built together with the students of the school, was inaugurated on 25th May.
After a participatory planning process that lasted about two years, the new student square was inaugurated to the public. The Tactical Urbanism intervention was dedicated to Fabrizio Mangione, former head of the institute who died prematurely.
The event saw the participation of the Mayor of Palermo Leoluca Orlando and the councilor Giusto Catania, as well as the local organizations that participated in the process: Tu Sei La Città and PUSH.
The students took the floor and told what this experience meant for them:
