How to support young people in their process of professional and personal growth?
YES-SI, whose goal is precisely to provide young people with the knowledge and skills needed to transform ideas into concrete projects, organized a well-attended meeting in Prizzi at the conclusion of a training course focused on social innovation and co-creation.
During the event, the experiences of the co-creation workshops held in Palermo with the Italian group, and in Barcelona with groups of people from Germany, Greece and Spain, headquarters of the organizations that worked on the project, were presented.
In particular, participants in the Palermo experience had the opportunity to work closely and in an international context, developing specific skills on how to transform an idea into a sustainable, social impact project.
In Barcelona, the work started with a participatory analysis of the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda, and then moved on to the co-creation of international projects, allowing young people to engage with European peers and to learn new approaches and working methodologies.
The meeting in Prizzi therefore was not only a time to give back the results achieved, but also an opportunity to reflect on the participants’ experiences and future path. During the day, young people shared their success stories, recounting how YES-SI has positively influenced their path.
For example, some participants talked about how the skills they acquired during the co-creation workshops gave them new ideas for projects in their communities, and also told about the growth of their network of contacts, which gained an international scope thanks to the experience in Barcelona. Participants expressed a desire to continue to collaborate and put the skills they acquired into practice-a sign that initiatives like YES-SI can really make a difference in the lives of young people, providing them with the tools they need to turn ideas into reality and to contribute in a meaningful way to positive societal change.
