In the context of a constantly evolving digital world, MEDMAS aims to enhance media literacy and civic engagement in nine European Union countries. The initiative, coordinated by PISTES SOLIDAIRES (France) and supported by partners across Europe, seeks to combat misinformation and strengthen democratic participation by engaging a wide range of social groups, including children, university students, teachers, and journalists.

MEDMAS responds to the growing challenge of an increasingly complex media landscape, where fake news and misinformation undermine democratic participation. Among the main activities are the creation of an innovative board game and a mobile app, both designed to develop participants’ critical media analysis skills and promote debate. Additionally, the project includes organizing workshops and conferences across Europe to raise awareness and educate citizens, with a special focus on young people and educators.

The project aims to fight misinformation by promoting media literacy among citizens, involve communities in European public and democratic debate, and strengthen democratic inclusion, with a focus on young people, women, people with disabilities, and mobile EU citizens. Furthermore, it seeks to offer practical learning opportunities to understand the importance of media in everyday life and decision-making processes.

The project plans to deliver 13 interactive workshops on discerning information in the media, 14 practical labs dedicated to young people, and 2 training workshops for teachers. The highlight will be a summit in Brussels, bringing together project partners to share experiences and best practices, promoting a common European strategy for media literacy.

MEDMAS aims to reach thousands of people across Europe. It is expected that over 12,000 students will improve their critical media skills, 15,000 children will participate in experiential activities, and 900 educators will be trained to tackle the challenge of misinformation. Additionally, the project seeks to engage 5,000 future education professionals and 500 school administrators, contributing to a lasting transformation of educational programs in media literacy.

Thanks to a broad partnership involving organizations from France, Italy, Greece, Spain, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Cyprus, and Croatia, MEDMAS stands out as an innovative project to build a more informed, critical, and resilient European society in the face of the challenges of the digital world.

MOVE: young people in action for an inclusive Europe

MOVE involved young people from Italy, Spain, Belgium and Cyprus to raise awareness of migration and promote social inclusion and European cohesion. Through workshops, campaigns and the MOVE Goose Game, participants developed empathy and awareness of the challenges related to inclusion. The course concluded with the presentation of the MOVE Decalogue of Inclusion, a tool for more cohesive societies.
