On the 13th December 2015, the TC EIRENE ended. EIRENE as “European Intercultural Education towards a New Era of Understanding” was funded by the Erasmus+ programme: Key Action 1 – Mobility of youth workers. The TC involved 40 youth workers coming from Italy, Bulgaria, Greece, Check Republic, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Romania, Slovakia, Macedonia, Turkey, UK, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro and Serbia.
During the 8 days of activities, the participants acquired and deepen the competences regarding the intercultural dialogue through non-formal methods. The main objective of the training was to strengthen the role and the competences of the youth workers providing them tools to promote dialogue and conflict resolution, also through media and communication.
The participants – half of them coming from Balkan countries- discussed and understood the tools useful for the work with young people in their associations. A whole session was dedicated to the maieutic approach, developed by Danilo Dolci, in which the participants discussed and shared the concept of peace, analyzing it through different perspectives.
During this learning path, the participants could share and reflect about peace and war through the role of Art. Indeed, using many forms of art as theatre, video and manual activities they could represent and communicate to the other participants their feelings about these topics.
The participants appreciated also the visit to LIBERA Palermo, that represents the provincial coordinator of “Libera. Associations, names and numbers against mafias”. They could know a local situation in which associations and school collaborate to create a society based on legality and justice.
At the end of the TC, the participants created a Log-book that it will be available for download in PDF version in this website. The log-book will represent an useful tool for the project dissemination because it summarizes the results achieved and the new developed ideas of the trainers and participants and interesting suggestions for the youth workers that work with young people.
