Why should we talk about the concept of resilience in terms of adventure? Every adventure intrinsically brings certain uncertainties and unexpected events that go beyond our control. In the process of resilience building, we prepare ourselves for a “game of uncertainties” trying to anticipate possible dangers that might arise along the way.

ReFace project partners are continuing together this challenging adventure to strengthen the knowledge and skills in the field of resilience, in order to contribute to the reinforcement of current policies and measures used at regional level.

On 7-8th April, the international partnership met in presence in Bilbao (Spain), at FFE premises, for the first time since the onset of the project, due to the constraints imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic.   Nevertheless, partners’ passion for the topic and their constant commitment to the project goals, supported by the careful supervision of the coordinator, allowed a smooth progress of the project activities, finding effective alternatives to the impossibility of carrying out face-to-face activities.

During the meeting, partners discussed the developments achieved so far, the current status of the project and jointly planned the next steps, with a special focus on the MOOC finalisation and testing phase, that will take place in the following months involving representatives of the public administration, University students, NGOs and other actors active in regional development.

Moreover, a first version of the Roadmap “Sustaining a resilient region – a tool for communities”, was presented, summarising suggestions and resources to strengthen regional resilience levels for anyone interested in the topic.

Project partners will soon meet again in Nice on the occasion of a training event on the topic of resilience, which will be organised by the Université Côte d’Azur, to prepare the trainers who will lead the piloting of the MOOC.

Would you like to know more about the next developments of the project and take part in the training?

From Dreams to Discoveries: How STEAM Tales inspire the next generation of girls in STEM

Rita Levi-Montalcini, a brilliant scientist and Nobel laureate, overcame the difficulties of her time to revolutionize neurobiology and pave the way for new discoveries in treating diseases such as cancer and Alzheimer’s. STEAM Tales is inspired by her story to motivate girls to explore STEM by offering female and diverse role models and breaking down gender stereotypes. The project also includes hands-on experiments to engage young people interactively and stimulate their interest in science.

Get Political: Empowering youth, building democracy

Get Political is an innovative initiative that aims to improve the political culture and active participation of young people (15-30 years old) and youth workers. Through inclusive tools, practical experiences and educational resources, the project fills gaps in civic engagement by promoting dialogue between young people and policy-makers. The aim is to train new generations capable of shaping democratic change.
