In the contemporary educational landscape, awareness of the importance of psychological support for young people, especially within educational institutions, is growing. The webinar “Psychological Support at School – Good Practices and Promotion”, held on 19 December 2023, offered a valuable platform to explore this crucial issue. Organised by CESIE in the context of the REBOOT NOW project, the event attracted the attention of educators and operators in the field interested in better understanding the key role psychological listening desks can play in promoting mental health and balance of the student.
Psychological listening desks, both inside and outside schools, have proven to be an essential piece in creating safe, inclusive and well-being-oriented educational environments for young people. During the webinar, crucial topics related to mental and gender health were addressed, with a special focus on the importance of addressing these issues from a young age.
During the webinar, we had speeches by Dr Caterina Termini from the USR Ufficio Scolastico Regionale Sicilia, as well as by the REBOOT NOW project team, consisting of Dr Valentina Grasso, Dr Ennio Iannitto and Dr Laura Grillo. The presence of Noemi Cottone from UDU Palermo further enriched the debate, offering a variety of perspectives and approaches on how to address the challenges of psycho-pedagogical support for young people.
In conclusion, the webinar “Psychological Support at School – Good Practices and Promotion” turned out to be an important initiative to promote awareness on the importance of providing psychological support to young people, both in and out of school. Psychological counters are a valuable tool in ensuring a healthy and inclusive educational environment, and investing in the necessary resources to implement and enhance them should be a priority for all educational institutions and communities.
