SUNIA GEEL 2 is a European project, Daphne III programme (DG “Justice”), that aims to provide a framework to reduce Domestic Violence against women and young people of marginalised ethnic communities (specifically, Sinti and Roma, Muslim migrants and Travellers according to partners’ country context).
The first phase of the project aims at understanding the current situation of the project’s target groups in relation to social services provision offered in the different partners’ country.
To reach this goal, different tools will be used:
- the elaboration of country reports giving an overview about Domestic Violence phenomenon in relation to several aspects (legal, services providers, professionals involved, kind of support provided by public and private institutions, etc.);
- a mapping of the services currently available in partners’ country for the project’s target groups;
- a questionnaire will be administered to marginalised and excluded service users in order to assess their the needs.
The final objective of that phase is making more effective the intervention of service providers with minority groups.
If you are a member of the ethnic communities addressed by the project, you can actively participate to the project, contributing to raise awareness about the issue of Domestic Violence as well as contributing to its reduction.
If you are a professional working with Domestic Violence victims, you can also be actively involved in the project sharing your expertise and discovering new tools to deal with the victims.
