In the frame of the EU-funded project EAN – European Anti-bullying Network, the Network composed of 17 organisations from 12 EU Member States, organized the 1st Scientific Conference on Bullying and Cyber-bullying across Europe on 11th and 12th June 2014 in Athens, Greece.
400 participants, representatives of academia, civil society organizations, national and international governmental organizations and school counselors contributed to the conference with spechees, scientific announcements and experiential workshops.
The publication of the conference’s proceedings aims to contribute to a better understanding of the phenomenon of bullying and cyber-bullying, present new scientific and research evidence, provide proper information and further raise awareness among the public, social and educational actors and parents.
The proceedings volume includes 43 announcements, which are published according to the agenda of the conference and are divided into 6 main speeches in the plenary, 12 parallel sessions and 11 experiential workshops under the main thematic areas of the conference.
Representing CESIE as part of the Scientific Committee, Prof. Gianna Cappello of the University of Palermo with the contribution “Cyberbullying & Company. From Myths to Empirical Evidence”.

The conference took place under the auspices of the Hellenic Presidency of the Council of the European Union with funding from the Programme Daphne III of DG Justice of the European Commission.
