How to set the stage for a successful season for hotels, restaurants and other enterprises in hospitality and tourism? How to ensure that your employees have all the necessary competences?
Success in tourism and hospitality business is strongly dependent on the quality of customer services provided by competent and motivated employees. However, training staff during the high season might be challenging even in the best teams.
The SeasonREADY project intends to support the competitiveness of small and medium hospitality enterprises (SMHE) by providing them with a training programme dedicated to (1) employers, managers and in-house trainers and (2) seasonal employees.
Firstly, the SeasonREADY Guide for employers explains how to plan and deliver a well-tailored work-based training programme to enhance professional competences and motivation of seasonal staff.
Secondly, the project offers a set of training materials designed to improve professional competences and motivation of seasonal staff in the field of:
- Front office operations
- Food and beverages
- Housekeeping
Addressing the following key competences:
- Customer Service
- Communication
- Professional and personal development of employees
On the 14th of December 2018, CESIE and Confesercenti Palermo held an event where they presented the SeasonREADY project and its outputs to the representatives of Sicilian hospitality and tourism enterprises.
The presentation was carried out to outline the projects’ objectives and emphasize the importance of on-the-job training for seasonal staff. The participants were introduced to the results of a European in-depth research; training materials based on the needs and preferences of SMHE in partner countries and offered to participate in the training course.
The project gained the interest of the audience who could enrol for the piloting courses to be organised from March to May 2019.
