On Tuesday, 5th July 2016 at 5:30 PM, join us at Moltivolti (Via Giuseppe Mario Puglia, 21, Palermo) for a discussion on the promotion of inclusive education with educators working with youth with special needs coming from Italy, Spain, France and Czech Republic.

The discussion will be facilitated by representatives from CESIE, Canto di Los and Volta La Carta – organisations that are involved in the Erasmus+, Key Action 2 – Strategic Partnerships in the field of Youth project TEDDIP’Europe aiming to help to ingrate minors with an intellectual disability into the community-based support structures.

Before the discussion a screening of “Berg Fidel – A school for all” (2011) will take place. The film tells the story of children with special educational needs who attend the elementary school BERG FIDEL in Germany. This alternative all-day pilot school takes on any child from the neighborhood, no matter their origin, religion or disability. They all learn together and solve their problems in weekly class councils. After fourth grade, at the age of 10, this extraordinary elementary school experience ends for them and these children are separated and sent to very different schools, run by very different learning and teaching methods.

The film highlights the role of community and school education in promoting a climate of inclusion and acceptance for everyone.

The film will be shown in the original language (German) with Italian subtitles, the discussion will be facilitated in Italian and English.

We express our gratitude to Goethe-Institut Palermo for making this film available for screening.

If you are interested in education, would like to meet international professionals working with young people, would like to contribute to more equal society.., join us!
