On 19th – 21st of March, 2015 the Consortium of the ARARAT project met in University of Koblenz – Landau (Germany). The meeting was tackling the following project activities:
- Existing mechanism of univesity – employer collaboration in Armenian Higher Education Institutions;
- Students′ participation in the network activities;
- Experience of EU partner institutions in the ares of university – business cooperation.
More than 20 Armenian students representing Armenian National Students′ Association, Institutional Students′ Organisations in cooperation with EU parner Institutions were debating about different models of the university – business cooperation in EU and Armenia, functions of deparments at Univerisities, such as Career Office, University-market cooperation unit, roles of students and alumni; benefits and problems which stop this cooperation.
During the creative thinking activity ″Six Thinking hats″ by Edward de Bono, orginised by CESIE, participants of the meeting had an opportunity to develop a map of possibilities for students′ participation in University-market cooperation, underlying local problematics and needs of all participating countries.
As a result of the meeting, the students are equipped with the necessary knowledge about labor market needs concerning employment, cooperation with a private sector, and are capable to implement EU practice on the local level.
Moreover representative of The National Centre for Professional Education Quality Assurance Foundation (ANQA) presented developed software, which will help to stimulate communication between Higher Education Institutions and business, presenting needs and expectations of all parties parties and will enable input of various stakeholders in the university-market cooperation. This tool will provide questionnaires addressed to the graduates, alumni, employers, students and collect statistical data about mentioned groups of stakeholders.
Based on these good practices and CEDEFOP (2010) methodology the Consortium will design a methodology and procedure for sectorial qualifications framework (SQF) development drawing on the Armenian National Qualifications Framework (ANQF).
