SUNIA GEEL 2 (suniageel2.eu) continues and extends its project’s activities. 50 Muslim youngsters are now involved in the Domestic Violence Response Programme, a series of workshops during which they reflect on a delicate and sensible issue, such as domestic violence is, by making use of artistic techniques.
The results emerged from these meetings are numerous and interesting as they actually are real artistic products (collage, paintings, image theatre etc.) which expressively convey the thoughts of the young participants about domestic violence and intra-familiar relationships. All these artworks will be featured in an exhibition that will be held in Palermo in the upcoming months, along with a DVD conceived to show the experience of the youths and that will also be used as a tool for raising awareness towards domestic violence.
At present, the same activity is taking place in all the other partner countries and it involves not only Muslim migrants, but also Irish travellers, Roma and Sinti people.
