The journey of PITCH has begun, which is a project aimed at establishing a European common ground to support the design and implementation of local integration strategies targeting migrant women, based on a personalized, participatory and multi-stakeholder approach.

The second project meeting after the one held in Palermo was organized and hosted by the City of Seville and INCOMA. It served as an intermediate step between the context analysis and the co-design of the overall model, taking place after the completion of the SWOT analysis and during the finalization of the neighborhood maps.

During the meeting, the partners shared the results of the context analysis and kicked off the international working groups critical to designing the model and consequently the local strategies. In addition, the current status of the project was discussed, with reference to project management and internal reporting, dissemination and evaluation.

During the discussion the sample themes were proposed, which were identified during project preparation as relevant to cover the 4 priority areas (work, education, awareness of rights and duties, social interaction).

The sample themes are the following:

  • Language, digital, entrepreneurial and employment retraining.
  • Awareness of rights and duties and active citizenship.
  • Vocational/educational guidance.
  • Social activities.

This will lead to:

  • Greater socioeconomic integration of migrant women between themselves and the host society.
  • A newly designed model forintegration strategies adaptable to the specificities of different local contexts.
  • Sustainable collaborations and increased readiness of organizations, institutions and stakeholders to address integration issues in the future.

The most innovative aspect of the project lies in the close collaboration that the municipalities in the various countries will have with the partner organizations. This close collaboration will give the opportunity to develop local models that can have a considerable impact on communities.
