Between September 2023 and January 2024, in Italy, Slovenia, Iceland, Greece and Cyprus, thanks to Green League, a large number of young people had the opportunity to try out different types of sports, immersing themselves in nature and increasing their knowledge and skills on the preservation of our planet.

Slackline, climbing, archery, dragon boat, football, beach volleyball, frisbee golf, trekking, canoeing, orienteering, yoga, are just some of the sports organized directly in nature and with environmental reflection related to the 4 natural elements – air, water, earth, fire.

40 sports events, related to the 4 natural elements, organised in 5 countries and involving more than 600 young people!

A huge success, which has helped to spread knowledge, messages and values to protect the environment, creating a bridge between sport and the environment and helping to make sport less impactful on the environment and at the same time a means of increasing environmental awareness among young people – athletes and not – sports and youth organisations.

The events were organised thanks to the guidelines developed within the project – the Nature’s Four Elements Sports Events – Outlines and the Green League Model – and will help other sports and youth organisations and educators, trainers and coaches to replicate this format linking sport and nature, sporting activity and environmental reflection.

Visit our website to consult the useful tools produced and stay informed about tournaments, relays and environmental actions to be organised in Italy, Slovenia, Greece, Cyprus and Iceland in the coming months.

From Dreams to Discoveries: How STEAM Tales inspire the next generation of girls in STEM

Rita Levi-Montalcini, a brilliant scientist and Nobel laureate, overcame the difficulties of her time to revolutionize neurobiology and pave the way for new discoveries in treating diseases such as cancer and Alzheimer’s. STEAM Tales is inspired by her story to motivate girls to explore STEM by offering female and diverse role models and breaking down gender stereotypes. The project also includes hands-on experiments to engage young people interactively and stimulate their interest in science.
