This report is the result of a systematic analysis of existing published literature focusing on the situation of children and families in Italy affected by care interventions and living in households where inter-parental violence is present, on the existing services for children at risk of being placed into out-of-home care, on the experience of domestic violence and child removal in Italy, and on the policy framework shaping interventions in the field.
The desk-based research was carried out as part of a European research on the topic of child care, child removal and domestic violence against women organized in the framework of the Action for Change project, funded by the European Commission through the Daphne III Programme.
