“Europe needs agile, resilient and future-proof VET systems, which can support young people to manage their entry to a changing labour market and ensure that adults access vocational programmes tailored to the twin green and digital transitions”.
(European Skills Agenda for Sustainable Competitiveness, Social Fairness and Resilience)
Vocational pathways are therefore considered necessary to meet the needs dictated by sustainable development. This is also due to the fact that most of the sectors expected to play a central role in the transition to a green economy are directly associated with VET.
In response to this need, the everGREEN_In project was developed to accompany VET institutes in becoming agents of change toward sustainable development through the adoption of green practices and by responding to the needs of the current labour world.
During the three years of the project’s implementation, interactive materials and resources will be developed, which, together with some training courses, will support the development of green skills among teachers and administrative staff of VET institutes.
On September 13, 2022, the European partner organizations met in Germany to discuss the first steps to be taken together: to identify the green practices currently used in VET institutes and to understand their level of knowledge and difficulties in implementing these practices, in order to develop useful resources tailored to their needs.
