CESIE’s four volunteers coming from different European countries: Francesca (Italy), Emese (Hungary), Veronica (Spain), Adeline (France) are experiencing ‘PANGEA – Volunteering for connecting continents’ “Youth in Action” programme – from September 2013 and until February 2014, hosted by CAPEC in Yaoundé, Cameroon.
Currently the four young women are promoting the fundraising initiative Smiles to Orphans at Christmas. The objective of the program is to enable less privileged children and orphans, share in the joy and blessing of Christmas by giving them both financial and materials gifts. We took contact and visited three orphanages, we met the children that live there and the volunteers are working with devotion. All, they need a serious help, basic needs must to be provided, such as: clothes, shoes, sheet, plates, toys, medicines and food ( bags of rice, tomato sauce tin, cooking oil, etc.). We would like also to organize a real Christmas party in these orphanages, and give a gift to each child. Donations that our friends and relatives will decide to offer will be collected directly from each volunteers, and we will attend to provide and bring to the orphans their Christmas’s gifts.
